Principal's Welcome

You are most welcome to the website of Tir na nOg Primary School. I hope that you will find it both informative and enjoyable. The aim of the website is to give our visitors an insight into the high quality educational experiences which our pupils enjoy on a daily basis. We have a small but very dedicated team of staff who strive to provide an environment in which our pupils feel content, secure and happy as they learn.

Tir na nOg Primary School is a small and unique primary school situated within the town of Ballyclare and parish of Ballyclare and Ballygowan. We have an unrivalled sense of togetherness as staff, parents and governors work together, motivated to provide the very best learning experiences for our pupils.

We uphold a strong ‘child centred’ ethos in which our strong sense of faith and values underpin all that we do. Our pupils are taught, nurtured and encouraged to become confident, caring and kind young people. We set high expectations for our pupils and afford them the opportunity to realise their potential, both academically and in other areas like sport, music and the arts. In Tir na nOg we foster attitudes of respect for all and this is reflected in our motto which states:

“We are a school that is welcome and inclusive to all communities, inspiring children to believe and achieve.”

Tir na nOg is an integral part of the local community always seeing to forge and improve links with people, businesses and neighbouring schools with the view to improving the diversity and balance of pupil experiences. We pride ourselves in taking time to celebrate each pupil and their unique gifts and talents and are committed providing the highest standards of education.

Our website will be updated regularly with information about events that are taking place. Meanwhile, if you have any further queries please do not hesitate to get in touch.
